One of the most common mistakes in typography is the use of “n” dashes instead of “m” dashes. Sometimes two “n” dashes are used in place of one “m” dash. While this was a workaround for typewriters, it is certainly not the rule to be followed by a designer or anybody dealing typography. Samuel John Klein, Designorati:Typography Editor has an interesting article about the use of the dash. Have a look at his article, Considering the Dash.
