Olympic Candidates – Cities and Logos

Winning the Olimpics isn’t something only athlets aim at, the competition starts early between the candidate hosting cities, which have already designed their logos for the prestigious competition.

The major candidates are Chicago, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. The International Olympics Committee will announce the Gold Medal winner host on October 2.

But here are the logos.

Designed by VSA Partners, actually the second of their submissions, as the first one was rejected. Accompanied by the slogan, “Let Friendship Shine.”

Madrid

Designed by JoaquĆ­n Malle. It’s hand with the Olympics logo and a the M of Madrid, basically saying “Hola Everyone!”

Tokyo

Designed by Kenji Ekuan, accompanied by the slogan, “Uniting Our Worlds.”

The logo of the Tokyo 2016 Olympic bid takes the form of a traditional Japanese knot, known in Japan as “MUSUBI.” It integrates the five Olympic colours into the motif of a “MIZUHIKI”, colourful and decorative knotted strings which long have been utilized in Japan to signify blessings during times of celebration.
